I left the Stage Stop Inn in Patagonia at 6:30am and headed out. It was crisp and a bit cold but would later warm up and turn out to be a beautiful day for a hike. On my way out of town on Harshaw Road I saw several Longhorns. Then the journey towards Mexico began. Both of these passages are really nice and enjoyable to hike. I forgot how many gates there were but I wouldn't be suprised if between both sections there are 20 or more gates.
There was water at the springs, the tanks and in the creek but one would need a filter for sure. Several folks were out enjoying the Holiday at Parker Canyon Lake. When I arrived there my Jeep was waiting for me. This was thanks to Gerry the Hotel Operator taking it there and dropping it off while I was hiking.
Later I would have Thanksgiving dinner in Tucson with a buddy.
Only passage 1 remains on my AZT trip from North to South. 21.7 miles to go. |
