I had the itch to get out (like every weekend) and with the recent photosets + weather this seemed like a good one. I didnt do as much research as I should have which came back to bite me. The road in was muddy which caused more sliding than I liked but I kept going. I parked at what I assumed was the trail head and started hiking. As I started up a constant snow would be my only company for the day. The higher I climbed, the more it stuck. Even with the conditions, i managed to break a sweat with the elevation gain. As I climbed higher the trail became less obvious with all the snow. There's a small ridge you climb up after the switchbacks. The snow was about 6 inches thick there and I could not find the trail. I spent an hour there trying to find it but still enjoyed the weather. Apparently it takes off up to the left but I just couldnt spot the ribbon or cairns so frustration set in. I checked it out once I got back and was so close to the waterfall I wanted to make it to. Bummer! But an excuse to go back soon. On the way down I noticed deer tracks following the trail down in my footsteps from the way up. Never did spot him/her where they left the trail. Even tho I didnt get to where I wanted, it was a great day out and the weather was exciting. I was happy my knee held up with no problems as well. Ill need it for Reavis this weekend :D
