| no partners | | Started on the corral on the west side of the peak(s), heading up the road in the cool, breezy morning. Found an old mining road in the Richmond Basin that led up to about 5700' near an old propsect. Steep going from there, dodging brush, which put us under the rocky cliffband that you can see from below. The rock is nice and solid, and a weakness in the cliff presented itself soon enough. After that, you're about 600' and .5 mile short. The terrain is generally easy but the brush got thick in a couple spots. It's central AZ after all....
What a clear day and a panoramic view. Can see from the White Mountains to Table Top, and from the Mogollon Rim to the Catalinas, Rincons, and Pinalenos. |
