| partners | | | I've been wanting to do this hike for a while, and cindyl thought she was up to it so we got a pretty early start. I was hoping we'd make good time up the lower section since we hiked to the pools not too long ago, but the wildflowers slowed us down a bit. We sat down for a bit at the pools, then continued on just as a large group from one of the resorts arrived. Past the pools, I think we only saw 5 people on the trail, including a pair who had packed in and camped just above the pools. We slowed down quite a bit as the climb steepened, but persisted on, and finally made it to the ridge. Nice views along the ridge part of the walk, before the last bit of climb up to The Window. We took a break for refreshments and photos there before heading back down. Even though the temperatures were very comfortable up high, we did have some hydration problems that led us to finish it off as fast as we could. |
