Took the day off for Good Friday and decided to try out the Pass Mountain Loop. Started from the Meridian Road approach. I was surprised that there were a number of spur trails from the Meridian trailhead and not much in the way of signage to keep you on course. That said, the only critical point is to make sure you cross the wash and hook up with the Pass Mountain trail on the west side. After that, you can pretty much go on autopilot in terms of navigational skills.

We took the loop in a counterclockwise direction. I can see why a lot of folks just head up to the pass and back from Meridian, as that is really the most appealing part of the hike. Lots of wildflowers on the trail. Saw a snake(?--see pic) curled up under a rock (still getting a little beauty sleep while waiting for it to heat up a bit more).

Had a great time in general. Fun hike!
