The combination of a late start, questionable weather, and not feeling that great dictated that I would not do as long of a hike as I had originally planned. Instead I picked this local favorite of mine. Turned out to be a great day, though I did kind of struggle.

The Lemmon Rock Lookout is currently being staffed and they are now inviting the public in. I spoke with the ranger for a while, and he showed me how he precisely locates lightning strikes and fires. He showed me where there was a small fire recently that he put out himself after a lightning strike. Pretty cool stuff. The views from the lookout are astounding too.
