(how I preferred to spend my special day)
With no off-road exploring, it's a very peaceful 2.3 miles one way hike from my usual FR139C vehicle campsite #3 to road lower end: http://hikearizona.com/photo.php?ZIP=346038
With no time schedule this last full day of my Mogollon Rim 5nt/6day vehicle camping trip, and after a nice Father's Day wilderness breakfast, I decided to just explore down and around FR139C for some additional exercise and to also scout-out a few more prospective, primitive vehicle campsites for possible future needs. I located four additional "G/H Quality" sites (numbers 5-8) and have geocoded and way point marked these new sites on my posted GPS Route and have also included pics of each new site with associated captions. Sites number 5 and 6 are close to each other and offer substantial level ground areas with shade from existing pines and oaks (with some needed small wood downfall clearing and a little raking, these two combined campsites would be a good choice for a group camp)  |
