for kids and family.
Lots
of exploring and climbing around which kids really like. Because of the dry
conditions, this hike was probably easier for us than it normally is. We still
came upon a surprising number of clean and
barely flowing pools of water. The
canyon is tight, so beware the temperatures can climb quickly in there.
We happened to run into
another hiking group near our turn around point at about a mile and a half.
Among them was a well-known artist in the Phoenix area named Anne Coe. She is
also the original founder of the "Superstition Area Land Trust". Others in the
group were instrumental in helping with the construction of the new "Lost
Goldmine" trail in the Superstitions. |
