Great Saturday hike up to the summit. we set out about 8:30 from the parking lot after having camped out close by the night before. Consistent, relentless elevation gain all the way to the saddle, but most was well shaded by trees. Only two of our group of four made it all the way to the summit, unbelievable views all around. I enjoyed a victory beer and a peanut butter sandwich before heading back down again with the clouds looming. On the way down, I did take a side trip out to the B-24 bomber wreckage. It is a little dodgy scrambling up the boulder fields to get to the site, it might have also been the thunder crashing nearby making me feel that way :scared: I did get a light drizzle of rain most of the way back down, but nothing to worry about. A very enjoyable hike, even if we had to see 100+ people on the trail. Happy to mark this one off the list!
