| no partners | | | This is my first post on HAZ, I have been hiking in AZ for going on five years. The thing I like the most about the Superstitution MT's is that you can combine trails or just wander. This morning was a beautiful morning for a hike it was in the upper 50's when I got to the TH at 6AM. I started at the 1st water parking lot and headed toward 2nd water hiked south on Black Mesa trail and went south for about a mile. Came to an open high point where I was in a Cholla field with Saguaro's lining both sides of the canyon and a nice view of Weaver's Needle. Here was a good spot to watch the sun come over the ridge line. After a short break I headed back to 2nd water and then took the trail to Hackberry Springs coming out at the Horse lot. This hike is about 25 miles from home and I was back at the house by 11am. |
