Good thing we had headlamps! My favorite part about this hike was enjoying the beauty of the Peralta area and Weaver's needle in almost complete solitude (we went in the counterclockwise direction). We were concerned about making it to the Peralta trail before sunset, so we took the Weaver's Needle Crosscut instead of going around the base. That part was not easy, but there were some very cool rock formations to look at along the way.
