It's a good looking day out with lots of sunshine but still got a strong breeze blowing out of the NW bringing a chill to the day. Wanted to check some of my favorite spots to see if autumn was improving but still the same thing as last week. The more fragile (and colorful) trees like Ash and Sugar Maple have already gone past prime and several have shed their leaves. The Birch and Aspen are still a greenish/yellow while the Oak are still primarily solid green.
Walked around the SNA area finding only spots of good color, the area around Boot Lake is a lot more overgrown with brush than I remember which blocks a lot of the color on the opposite shore. Kinda disappointing |
