| no partners | | Hey Whatsup! I'm exausted and a little sunburnt, but I have totally enjoyed this hike! We started out on the trail at 9:00pm, what a perfect area to night hike. We got to angel basin in about two hours, and setup camp. The evening was very chilly this weekend, with lows in the 50's. In the morning, we broke camp and explored around the basin, and walked .5mi back to the ruins. On the trail on the far side of the creek from the ruins is a little path that goes up a hill, up there is a lookout rock the indians mustave used. its really worn down. The ruins are strategecally located, and the construction is so meticulous that a majority of the structures are intact. Years of smoke has caused the ceilings to turn a sooty black. Definatly climb up to the second level, but be careful! With binoculars we spotted several probable dwellings up the cliff from these. Who knows, but I'd like to venture up there someday. The hike out is most definatly uphill. |
