Purposefully got to the TH around 10.30. Weather was just perfect in 50s with lots of sun and no wind. Chatted with stewards who told me that latigo trail will extend east to connect with whiskey bottle. Yeah

Did a short loop to include Maverick and came back on 118th st. All of the trails I did today had ton of bikers. I learned to stay off trail when I photograph to avoid collision . Saw phainopepla everywhere . Saw few birds that I have not photographed yet but could not do it today as someone was always coming and birds flew off

Maverick was part of the fund raiser event back a couple of years ago. I did not realize that it connected with cholla loop( not on the map). I plan to do cholla loop with maverick as I think it is very scenic. Fun to see lot of animal tracks today.
118th st is being re-vegetated using drip system . Nice to see the main lines not damaged by wildlife. Came to Latigo intersection and realized that there is already sign in place with extension to Fraesfield TH. :y:

Finally today I made it over 500 miles :y:

I am very proud of myself. Of course stress reduction is my primary goal and mileage was secondary goal. Both were accomplished.
I would like to thank hikeaz for giving me the tools to keep track of mileage and to stay motivated and learn from other's triplogs. I would like to thank Joe for creating the map of northern preserve so that I don't have to pick cone mtn for every trip :sl:

I would like to thank fellow HAZers for teaching me about hiking, flora, fauna, life..etc :wrt:
