| partners | | Joel wanted to do a fairly hard hike today so I suggested that we go to the Tumacacoris. I've been there 3 times between October and January. I really fell in love with the area. It's a beautiful mountain range without any trails, therefore, I never see anyone else there. It was nice to share it with Joel and a couple other intrepid hikers.
My goal for the day was to finally make it to the high point and do a loop. We bagged the peak and then we bushwhacked down somewhat steep slopes and drainages littered with loose rocks and grass/brush. Lucky for me everyone was still smiling and cheerful even after pushing through the dense brush close to the bottom of the drainage. Let's face it, bushwhacking makes one appreciate trails.
Following tradition, we stopped at Dos in Tubac for tacos and beers. Plus grabbed brownies from the Tubac Deli - Paul's brownies are amazing! |
