Unloaded gear and set up our shuttle vehicle at the last recreation area near the dam. Getting an early start meant no tubers during our entire trip. Plenty of kayaks and stand-up paddleboards on the water today.
We saw plenty of wildlife including wild horses, river otters, cardinal, red wing black birds, egret, great blue heron, and a bald eagle. We also found a floating down river . Not only out of place, but out of season. The was in great shape, and looked like about a 7-8 pounder.
It was a little hectic getting out. Lower parking lot was full, traffic going to get our shuttle vehicle, and people fighting for places to load-up. Not too bad though. Probably cost us about an extra 20 minutes or so.
Overall, a beautiful day on the river. |
