First problem was that my drive-in from the west didn't work. The road through Goff Ranch petered out about half way in so I retreated and looped around coming from the south and east on the Willow Springs Rd., and then a bunch of smaller tracks which got me close.
Somehow I ended up walking my plan B hike, and didn't even realize it til I looked at the map after getting home. Never mind, I had a nice tour of the area which is walkable desert, a little rocky and slow on the ridges. Though there are supposedly some Hohokam-era signs nearby I didn't see a single one today.
Interesting views from these hills and I had nice strong (cooling) breeze coming down as the storms started to gather. |
