This hike almost didn't happen today. My friend and I had been planning this one for a couple of weeks now, and when we woke up to the weather this morning, we considered switching to something else. I'm kind of stubborn, so I told her we'd try it anyway, and to just bring a rain jacket. We got to the trailhead at 7am, to clouds, but no rain. Went up Lost Dutchman, then Bull Pass over to Black Top. The "trail" to the top was very easy to follow this time--much easier than when I did it last December. We had an early lunch at the top, then headed back down. On the way back, we took Black Mesa, and Second Water to the trailhead. It sprinkled off and on the last two miles or so, but was of no concern. It turned out to be the perfect day, with gorgeous clouds and scenery the entire way.
