Before my surgery I applied for a permit to visit Cienega Creek for the Sunday after my surgery. I was hoping that the area was as I expected - flat. And it was! 7 people joined me on my recovery hike. The Cottonwoods were pushing out cottony seeds like crazy. It almost seemed like it was snowing! There was some running water in the creek. This is definitely a good hike for beginners or people who are needing to do something easy.
