This was our second day at Joshua Tree NP and we wanted to to start early on Ryan Mountain. This worked out well because part of the trail was in the shade still on the way up since the sun was not that high yet. This is a good hike, the climb is steady and steep enough to make you feel it, but not over the top. The views are excellent, and we saw a big horn on the way up. Good amount of people on the trail.
