| no partners | | I'm actually a lazy hiker and wildlife photographer. If I don't find what I'm looking for (sometimes, I don't know what that is), then I'll leave. I look for stuff in plain view, and generally on the trail, and never take more than 5 minutes photographing an animal. I'm usually done in a minute or less. I use the auto setting on the camera, so most of my good photos are because I have a decent camera. Also, I tend to return to the same areas, but you all probably figured that out.
Anyway, today's hike was cool. I saw my 8th coyote, but I didn't have correct lens to photograph it. I saw 2 kingsnakes and a few lizards, one was a desert iguana, but it was too fast to photograph. I'm not sure what's up with the 5 kingsnake sighting this month, but I'm diggin' it. I don't consider the east valley a hot spot for kingsnakes, but maybe I'm wrong. It's odd that certain years have certain species that are more prevalent than other years. I think I'm done surveying Jacob's Trail for now. I'll probably hit Goldfield Oven Loop this week (a HAZ favorite) to see what critters I've been missing.
