| no partners | | | i really wanted to disperse camp up workman creek like randy had last week, but bobby's better brain prevailed, and we stayed at rose creek. all of the day use areas were taped off - and there was a couple of mesa hot shots at the ready at elks youth camp, so he figured there was a reason they didn't want us there. i wasn't too happy about the decision, but he was driving. we set up the tent at the rose creek campground, and bobby promptly entered to take a nap. i popped open another beer and headed up the hill directly above the campground. no trails - just straight up. until i found a road... where does this go? i didn't see this on the tonto map i was looking at. i followed it for a bit, then turned around and headed back. i hiked for about 35 minutes one way, then turned around. i did make sure to take a photo of the road when i got on it so i would be sure to exit at about the same location - this trick worked out splendidly. aeg and distance is super conservative, but who knows. |
