Had an enjoyable 3 night stay at Camp Grasshopper on FR 139C. This was my second time there in a month. GH unfortunately had to cancel out just before our planned trip. However that didn't stop the rest of us from missing an opportunity to get away from the heat of Phoenix and Tuscon. Enjoyed catching up with Randy after not seeing him for a couple of years and finally getting to meet Tough_Boots aka Kyle-the-Heartless. A pair of flickers had a nest in a dead tree above our campsite which offered some daytime entertainment as both the male and female worked hard all day keeping their chicks fed. Went on a short loop hike through Merritt Draw with Randy on Friday and then a longer Barbershop-Dane-U-Bar loop hike on Saturday after Randy left.
