| no partners | | A great day for a hike! The weather had dried up a bit, no thunderstorms. Beautiful! My first time completing the Inner Basin Trail. Then, when I reached the junction, I turned right on the Weatherford Trail and hiked to Fremont Saddle, (which is misnamed Doyle Saddle on the topo map). Someone was camping there. Lousy campsite. (Too exposed to wind and lightning.) There are a couple of much better ones back down the Weatherford Trail less than a mile.
Despite the fact I've been getting back into shape to some degree, this hike was hard for me. I have gradually built up the miles and elevation gains, but this was also at a higher altitude than what I've been doing. But I'm glad I did it. I did enjoy it! Looking forward to a backpacking trip in the Sierras.
I'm not happy with the camera. I'm sure it's operator error and I need to work through the instructions that didn't come with it, haha. Have to find them online. My flower photos are never any good. Always out of focus. I'll include the flowers because I don't know their names and hope someone else will label them. Also, not sure of the conifer. Bristlecone Pine?? |
