| no partners | | After our hike/rappel at Eagle Lake, we hiked down to Emerald Bay from the Vikingshom parking area and enjoyed the afternoon on the beach. It's easy to see why this is one of the more popular places around Lake Tahoe.
The hike down is ona well-groomed dirt road/trail. You drop (and gain on the return) 500 feet, but it's pretty gradual.
Paddling out to Fanette Island in the middle of the bay was fun. Cliff jumping opportunities were enjoyed, and the island is topped with a small "castle" structure for a fun lookout point. Good times. |
