| no partners | | What an awesome hike and what a day for it. Temps were in the mid 60s when I arrived at the TH. If you like off trail hikes, with loose pumice rocks this is the hike for you!!! I saw my second AZ tarantula, several javelina and a fox! This hike would have been worth it just to have seen the fox... Saw not one other human.
The hike is never really too difficult but you just keep going up and up and up. You will reach what you think is the summit but is really just the highpoint of the Elephant Mountain ridgeline. Then you'll see that you have a very pointy summit to gain. There's a giant cairn up top but I didn't see a register.
This was actually one of my favorite hikes. |
