| no partners | | I wanted a good workout, and decided to take a second hike up Esperero Canyon. I first hiked up Esperero two years ago. I was thinking of going all the way to Cathedral Rocks trail, but stopped about a mile short as the trail leaves the dry creek bed. Was running a little short of time and I was a little slower going uphill than I anticipated. The grass is thick in Geronimo Meadow but dried and brown. Some nice fall colors in the riparian zone along the creek bed of the upper canyon. There is nothing in particular to see up the canyon as a destination in November. The creek bed is dry as a bone. Nevertheless it was a gorgeous day and the canyon had its own beauty. I love some of the old junipers that have survived fires and floods for many many years. I want to go back when the water is running and check out Bridal Veil Falls |
