| no partners | | With so many commitments on the weekends, I have been enjoying hiking within the valley lately. South Mountain has many opportunities to explore so sunrise hike with Gabby dog up some new territory sounded good. Started up Holbert just before sunrise. It was so bright out I could see a lot of the glyphs while walking through the very flat open area at the beginning. The trail begins to climb a lot after this and goes over some cool rock formations. There were quite a few pools of water up top. Back to the National Trail which I love. Had a nice run down to Buena Vista and enjoyed the overlook for a while. Found a cool little nook where someone setup a small area with rocks blocking the wind and a fire pit. Made my way back down National and then Holbert. I love running on National Trail. Made the short jaunt up to Dobbins and then back to the Jeep. Loved the gigantic rocks with the glyphs all over them. Some of the art was more recent than others, and it was easy to spot the difference. Also, I love National Trail. |
