I got back from skiing all day and was ready for a hot tub or a nap (or both). Unfortunately, that wasn't to be, and I was recruited to take advantage of the fresh snowfall and clearing skies to chase a hopeful sky show for sunset at Marshall Lake. I'd never been there before

so I agreed, and we hoofed it through the snow on the closed road, reaching the lake just in time. The clouds didn't cooperate as hoped, and the peaks were still fully socked in from the storm, but we managed to make a picnic out of it and split a pecan pie before heading back to the road as it got dark.
