Last January I hiked from the Gila at kelvin Highway to this point. This trail is easy to follow and stays pretty level. The fact that you accumulate an AEG of 1400 feet testifies to the amount of ups and downs you take as you cross varies side canyons (This AEG is for round trip). Not a terribly interesting trail but the mining activity from years past is interesting and the occasional low flying Helicopter breaks the monotony. I was hoping for a low flying jet screaming through the canyon like I saw last January from high up along the Arizona Trail South of Here. Water should not be an issue due to proximity to river. |
