Night 4 of my trip was camping at Vallecito County Park, one of my favorites. I took the scenic route from Borrego Springs (S-22 to S-2, then down S-2 past Scissors Crossing). Along the way I stopped at Blair and Little Blair Valley for a look around. This is another of my favorite parts of Anza-Borrego State Park, and offers nice free dispersed camping. Blair Valley is at about 2600 feet and Little Blair about 2800 feet, so you get to beat the really warm conditions of the badlands and around Borrego Springs. I like Little Blair better because it is a bit more secluded. There are some nice hiking opportunities here as well. |
