I had the day off and decided to play locator for the SMHS. I started out at first light (5:15am) and the temperature was perfect. The trail is in good shape but narrow and the fox tails are starting to lean in so be prepared. Just past the junction of Dutchman and Red Tanks (okay I over shot a little) a group of about 10 ladies with backpacks passed me hiking in (7:15am). I continued with my locating duties and started out by 8:40am. I was hoping to see a gila monster since I've been out of their territory most of this spring. One gila monster was coming down the Dutchman trail and then later after passing the backpackers (who set up camp near Bluff Spring) a second gila monster was on the Bluff Spring trail. Yes! The Supes are awesome.
