| no partners | | We were looking for easy-access autumn colors. Recent trips reports suggested peak color along Horton Creek this week (or possibly next). Many of the maples were on color-fire. But I was a little disappointed with the limited distribution of these beautiful trees. We only saw 6-7 along the banks, with many more visible along the ridgeline.
This was our first time at Horton Creek, and I expected it to be super busy on a Sunday afternoon. While there were 15+ cars in the parking lot, we didn't see anyone else on the creek trail ... Can't complain though! I can see why this are is so popular. It's relatively close to the valley and beautiful.
I was surprised that the lower section of Horton Creek wasn't perennial. With so much surface water above and below this section, it seemed odd. |
