| no partners | | Starting from the Trailhead Staging Area at Usery Mountain Park, my wife and I hiked CCW on the Pass Mountain Trail. At around 1.6 miles, we reached an intersection; going right/east crosses a wash; going straight/north continues the CCW journey of the Pass Mountain Trail.
My wife continued on Pass Mountain while I crossed the wash and then hiked the Bulldog Saddle Trail. This led around Peak 3004 and eventually brought me to the pass/saddle on the Pass Mountain Trail where my wife had stopped to wait for me. We then continued on the Pass Mountain Trail back to the Trailhead Staging Area.
This was my first time on the Bulldog Saddle Trail. I found it to be wide and easy to the saddle that's ESE of Peak 3004. After that, the trail was narrower, but still very well beaten in and, therefore, easy to follow. There were cairns along the way; they're reassuring, but are hardly necessary due to the fact that the trail is very well established.
All in all, a very satisfying hike, albeit a bit easier than I was hoping for. |
