Just another insomnia fueled early morning workout hike.
Came across at least two dozen elk before the sun rose.
Started with a puffy but immediately stripped down to a T-shirt once the sun rose since the weather here is downright phenomenal!

Plenty of game trails on the mesa as its western portion is a elk haven free of people and roads.
Lots of options once on Houston, you could head down to Butcher Creek, The East V, Shoofly Canyon or even continue up to the Mogollon Rim.
Always nice and quiet up there and I never encounter another life besides animals, good stuff!

*Included the 2 1/2 miles and 328 feet of aeg from yesterday’s meaningless post work hike near Horton Canyon.
