| no partners | | Another hot day on the trail. This trail actually has quite a few sections of shaded trail but in the open sections it was dusty and hot even with a 9AM start. Today we continued on past Glacier Basin camp site to see what we could see. That section was the hottest of the day. The views did improve a little bit the further we went and there was a nice view back down to the large green meadow and pond at the camp site. Scoured the peaks for goats and other large animals but no luck. I guess they were trying to beat the heat as well. Wildflowers are still out which was a nice treat. Plenty of little streams to cross along the hike. Saw a little frog in the same place as we did last year -- maybe it was the same one??? Had maybe a 5 minute wait getting into the park in the morning but it was probably closer to a 30 minute wait when we left. Still, any day on the trail is a good day. |
