Decided to hit the North Phoenix Sonoran Preserve today. Previously, I have hike the loop and Dixie Mountain, but this time I also added in the Western Vista mountain trail as well. Good elevation change and distance for a warm morning in late September. This is a good park with great scenery and low crowds. I sat at the top to catch my breath and watched the hot-air balloons land a short distance away. A great hiking option in the North Valley! Just watch out for the cholla cactus fields up here! :o
