| no partners | | Two days of riding with the family. Sarrah hasn’t snowboarded in 20 years. Noah’s first time at a ski area. Everyone did great. Noah seems to be picking it up even faster than Micah did. She is improving and riding the lifts by herself. I got a couple opportunities both days to go out and get some turns while the family was taking breaks. Forgot how much I like Wolf Creek terrain. Was able to get some fresh tracks both days. Weather was nice and they are open on weekend right now with discounted lift tickets. Thanks to a 30” storm last week and another three inches the other day. Coverage is thin in some areas, but pretty good and there was a decent amount of expert terrain open with coverage. You have to be aware of obstacles in the trees like downed logs which need to be jumped or avoided. I dropped in off to skiers right of the treasure lift and was rewarded with untracked snow that is perpetually shaded and felt like powder that fell yesterday which was probably the highlight of my personal runs dropping into a treed 50 degree slope. It’s super fun hanging with the family watching them improve as well. Probably hit the hot springs Manana. Great Fall colors in Wolf Creek pass as well which was totally unexpected. |
