| no partners | | Been wanting to go back and hike Peralta to the saddle again and catch the wildflowers, but when I got to the trailhead, the lot was almost full and there were people everywhere! Not my idea of a nature experience, so I headed out for Barks instead. What a great hike that turned out to be! The scenery was fantastic and there was something new and interesting around every bend. I spent a long time there exploring and taking photos. There were plenty of wildflowers, although they are starting to wane, so the insects were awful! But, the lizards were out in force, racing around taking advantage of the feast. Still many pools, but some are starting to stagnate. I wish I had come out here a month ago cuz I could see where the water level had been much higher. I enjoyed every minute of this hike, and the best part was I had the whole place to myself. Hard to believe this doesn't get more traffic so close to the way-too-popular Peralta, but I'm not complaining! |
