We took our son Max to Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve for his first ever hike. What a perfect place for it. We saw a Great Horned Owl in a giant Cottonwood tree, and a birder let us view a Gray Hawk with his powerful birding scope. We also saw several deer (I've seen deer here in 3 out of 3 visits!) and countless other birds. This time we added the short Cienga trail to the end of the loop. The trail proved to be a refreshing conclusion for it smelled strongly of mint. Once again, the preserve blew me away, and I was pleased to share it with my wife, father, mother, and son. It's my birthday tomorrow, but we already celebrated it and SO MUCH MORE at the preserve.
