Great day for a kayak-hike on Canyon Lake. We needed a tandem kayak to supplement our two single rigs, but our plan fell through, so we improvised with a couple of inner tubes and a tow line.

Started out at the Boulder recreation area and paddled south towards La Barge Creek. Several other kayakers at the pullout where the creek is no longer passable by kayak. We docked, had lunch, and explored a bit further up the creek, which is still flowing pretty well after the recent rain/snow in the Supes.

On the way back, I left the group and bushwhacked up to the Boulder Canyon trail and then hiked down to the marina and across the bridge, back to the recreation area to complete the loop and reconnect with the rest of our group.

Weather was perfect.
