| no partners | | Nice walk through the trees. Started an hour after sunrise, which gave me plenty of shade for going uphill.
I followed the official route, although the official route doesn't quite match the guide. The route turns north on 9367R, and stays on it til 87, while the guide continues on 608. Will have to try the full 608 version later.
On the way back, I took a couple off trail diversions, one down in the direction of Corner Tank (though I didn't go all the way to the tank) and one trip over to the rim from the intersection of 608 and 9367R, to check out Pine Canyon. From my spot, I could see the North part of the canyon. Beautiful views.
Some fresh bear scat, a coyote sighting, a rattlesnake encounter, and lots of birds. |
