Headed down Bull Basin making a quick stop at the unknown cowboy grave before heading up Rock Creek. For a trail that has been decommissioned for nearly 20 years, it is in great shape! Is is pretty easy to follow the majority of the time and well cairn ed for the couple of times you need them. Very small area of newly growing cat-claw but nothing horrible. Water was flowing in Rock Creek and the falls were roaring. I hiked to the falls earlier this year from the 650 side and the trail was difficult to follow a good amount of the time and overgrown, not the case coming in from Miles.More bear scat on the trail then I have seen anywhere in the Superstitions. Took a brief side detour about a half mile up Pinto to the burn area where this week's rains have further washed out the area. |
