| no partners | | Today is our anniversary and Mrs. SloFolks wanted to have a green chili cheeseburger for lunch. (she always has been a cheap date ) To make it more of an event we went to Wickenburg to get one. We usually spend some time every summer in Santa Fe and Taos for our chili fix but the virus put the nix on that.
We were also going to do a stroll through the Hassayampa River Preserve but had forgotten they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays. We ended up doing a scenic drive and meander off of Vulture Mine Road near Vulture Peak instead. We saw lots of vultures (go figure) and some jackrabbits along the way.
We found our burgers at a place called Screamers Drive In on Highway 60. Not bad, but Hatch chili from New Mexico has better flavor IMO. |
