After scouting a route to get to the cave in the cliffs above Turks Head it was time to try it out. Upon arriving at the Hieroglyphic trailhead the coyotes were serenading the daylight and the early bird hikers. The trails were still moist and not dusty which was nice. I hiked passed Turks Head and jumped the trail going straight to the fence. I followed any easy ridge to the cliff band hiked along the cliff band to the cave. That sounds simple enough but there was the usual rocks, brush, a few climbs and several ups and downs to keep it interesting. At no point was it exposed or crazy but a good workout. The views are nice but there wasn't much to see up at the cave. I did kick up a nice white-tailed buck on the hike down. Several hikers out on the trail but not crowded and very nice temps.
