| no partners | | One and done. The route to the top pretty straightforward with a couple of places I didn't care for but it wasn't hard; after all this was an old route. The ruins were surprisingly sterile I thought, not one pot shard did I see, and I was able to get down from the main room where any likely trash should be thrown.
However stellar views of the river twisting around. The return involved some butt hiking. I left my pack at the little solo saguaro saddle as to scramble unencumbered.
Picked up the main old route down connecting the sites. Some things along there if you are paying attention, which you should as there is a fair amount of cactus. I will return at some point to do some additional hiking here. One; it's very pretty and two, not all that accessible except certain times of year. Fail to get into the mouth of Pinal Creek where I saw one green looking pool near the river.
Was able to scoot past on the bank but attached a handline to my pack and pulled it over both times. Pics later. oh, and neoprene socks are nice as the water is pretty cold. |
