| no partners | | Beautiful solo hike at a quiet, serene place. I went a mile on highline before deciding I was more feeling a streamside stroll and turning around towards Colonel Devin. The weather was perfect and it was super lush with lots of pretty purple flowers.
I followed a bunch of little side paths to check out various cascades. When I got to the second bridge I decided to turn around as I needed to find and set up camp for the night. This is such a beautiful trail and the hike was exactly what the doctor ordered!
P.S. The road to Washington Park TH is in a bit of rough shape right now. Nothing AWFUL but there were quite a few big potholes, larger rocks and tons of ruts. The gravel was oddly slippery and it was annoying so I actually put it in 4WD for the last stretch there. Not necessary, but helpful if you’re lazy I still think a car could be okay if they have good tires and go extremely slow. I drove my sedan there in the past but the road was way better back then. |
