Joined a small research group of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy for a toad count. These amphibians stay underground until the conditions are just right. Monsoon storms lately brought them out along with massive numbers of mosquitos! While out from 7:30 to 9:30 PM we observed one Couch’s Spadefoot Toad and two Sonoran Desert Toads, hundreds of tadpoles, a bat, pack rat and about 50 dime size baby toads.
