I was sitting around late this morning looking at the cloudy skies and nice temperatures, and figured that it would be good day for a hike, although I really didn't know where to go. So I said, "why not Mount Ord". So off I went.

I got to the TH about noon. You couldn't ask for a better day to do this hike in early August: cloud cover, mild temperatures, and a bit of a breeze.

I saw one white-tailed deer, but no other hikers. That is about par for the course for a week day hike to Mount Ord.

Wildflowers Observation Light
Wildflowers were moderate at the lower elevations -- lots of field bindweek and prickly poppy, along with a few others. At higher elevations the flowers were more isolated. So overall I will call it "light".
