| partners | | After visiting Mount Rushmore we headed across the street to the Black Elk Wilderness to do the Blackberry and a portion of the Centennial Trail. The Black Berry Trail is a mile long and connects to the Centennial Trail. The Centennial Trail is a 111 mile trail through the Black Hills, we will be doing only a 2 mile section and then returning the way we came.
Well maintained trail through forest with a couple of small stream crossings. If we had more time in this area I wouldn't mind doing more of the numerous trails in this area. The Centennial Trail looks inviting with lots of loop possibilities. Met an individual that was through hiking the Centennial Trail and he mentioned that the facilities along the trail were located close enough that he never really had to rough it. |
